Our Story

Flock’s founders were three local creative labels Pick up Sticks Vintage, Hearts & Guns and Palomita Jewellery; all well established brands in Brighton’s independent vibrant shopping scene.

Having sold their wares alongside each other and separately in other shops around Brighton and at local markets, the three felt it was time to collaborate on a new venture, and in November 2015 Flock was born. The concept was to bring together a ‘flock’ of like-minded makers, designers and vintage collectors, offering the very finest clothing, jewellery, textiles, homewares, accessories and gifts.

It was a joint project from the beginning; from finding the shop, designing the ideal space and refurbishing it, to adding final touches like the hand-painted bird mural and installing vintage furniture and fittings. This sense of collaboration was fundamental to Flock, everyone involved was passionate about supporting each other both creatively and practically.

Flock had a bohemian style and an eye for detail and authenticity, this was central to the Flock aesthetic and also a main factor when considering new labels.

Brighton and its surroundings was also very much part of the Flock brand. Its liberal and inclusive culture made it the perfect home for creative residents who aren't afraid to wear what they want or live exactly how they like.

Over the 10 years it was open, the Flock family evolved and developed, as brands came and went exploring new creative avenues. But its ethos remained the same… to champion high quality, handmade and hand curated pieces and to provide customers with unique items and great personal service.
